Here at Light Fittings Direct, we want you to be able to buy with confidence both in ourselves and the products we sell. With this in mind, our LED light bulbs carry a specific warranty that ensures you can do exactly that.
Any LED light bulb, Phoebe LED fitting or Ledvance LED fitting bought from Light Fittings Direct carry a 24-month warranty.
If you should purchase an LED light bulb, Phoebe LED fitting or Ledvance LED fitting from Light Fittings Direct and have it fail, break or develop a fault at any point within the timelines stated above of the date of receipt, we will happily replace the item or offer a full refund, depending on your wishes.
In instances where large numbers of light bulbs fail within a relatively short period of time, we may ask you to return them to us so that they can undergo testing to identify any potential issues.
For any other item that isn't an LED light bulb, Phoebe LED fitting or Ledvance LED fitting, we currently offer no formal warranty unless this is explicitly stated in the product's description. However, we may still be willing to replace or refund certain orders depending on their individual circumstances, so it is always worth giving us a call.
For items not covered by a Light Fittings Direct warranty (or in cases where our warranty has already expired) it may still be wise to contact the manufacturer directly. Some offer an extended warranty on certain products that may entitle you to a refund or replacement, even if our own warranty period has already elapsed.
What doesn't our warranty cover?
In any instance where your LED light bulb, Phoebe LED fitting or Ledvance LED fitting has developed a fault, we will do our utmost to replace it or offer a full refund (provided the item is still within its stated warranty period). However, if it becomes apparent that the product has been misused, tampered with or modified in any way, we will view this as having voided its warranty.
'Misuse" includes, but is not limited to, incorrect operation by the user, use of non-dimmable products on a dimmable circuit or connection to or operation with an unsuitable power supply. 'Tampering' or 'modification' can be interpreted as any activity designed to alter the product in such a way that it can be used in a manner that wasn't intended by its original design. This can include rewiring, removing plugs, home repairs or changing components. Unfortunately, we won't be able to replace any item that has undergone any such process.
What about our initial 28 day returns period?
Irrespective of whether your product comes with a warranty or not, anything you buy from us can be returned within 28 days of receipt, for any reason - that's 14 days from the date you receive the goods to cancel and a further 14 days after cancellation to return the items to us.
As long as the item is returned to us within 28 days we will either replace it or refund its full value, whether it is broken, faulty, incorrect or simply unsuitable for your needs. In cases where there is no fault and the return is based on a change of heart rather than an actual defect, the relevant goods must be returned in a saleable condition and in their original packaging.
What should I do if I want to return an item?
If you wish to return an item at any point, it's important that you contact our sales office to arrange a return. If your item has developed a fault during its warranty period, we will send you a returns number and postage label so that you can send it back to us free of charge. If the product isn't faulty and you simply wish to return it within the initial 28 day returns period, we will still provide a returns number but you will be expected to cover the cost of postage yourself. Should you receive an item from us that is broken on arrival or differs from what you ordered, we will pay for the cost of returning it.
If you have any further questions about our Warranty or Returns Policy that aren't addressed on this page, please feel free to contact us.
